Kogi Lawmaker Sympathizes With Ejiba Community Over Market Attack

Hon. Idowu Ibikunle Simon, the member representing Yagba West Constituency and Minority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, has sympathized with the people of Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area, over the recent attack on the community market.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, May 7, resulted in the kidnapping of two individuals, causing widespread fear and tension in the community.

In a statement made available to the press earlier today, Hon. Ibikunle commended the Yagba West Local Government Council Transition Committee, led by Hon. Tosin Olokun, for their swift response to the incident, which led to the safe rescue of one of the abducted individuals.

The Minority Leader praised the committee’s proactive efforts, saying, “I commend the Transition Committee for their prompt action, which led to the rescue of one of the kidnapped individuals. Their swift response is commendable and a testament to their commitment to the safety and security of our people.”

Hon. Ibikunle also called on relevant stakeholders and the people of Yagba West to partner with security operatives by providing them with useful information about suspicious individuals. He urged the community to remain vigilant and support the security agencies in their efforts to ensure safety and security.

“I appeal to everyone to remain calm and continue with their activities as normal. Let us work together to prevent future occurrences by providing useful information to the security agencies,” he said.
