Ijumu LGA Set To Digitalize Revenue Collection System

In a bid to block loopholes in the system of revenue collection, Ijumu Local Government Area is to partner with the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS) to improve revenue generation of the Area.

To this end, the Council is set to digitalize revenue collection.

The Caretaker Chairman of the Local Council, Alh. Haruna Ibrahim gave the indication shortly after a meeting with the Management of the State Revenue Service on Monday in Lokoja.

According to the Caretaker Chairman, the move is to introduce a modern method of revenue collection to the Local Government, saying the Area is yearning for development.

He solicited the cooperation of the management and staff of the Revenue Service in the area of Training of the Local Government Revenue Staff and other ways of enhancing revenue generation.

He pointed out that his administration is ready to use Ijumu money to develop the Local Government, assuring them of his determination to leave the Council better than he met it.

Responding, the Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Sule Salihu Enehe described the meeting as timely and a step in the right direction, promising that the Agency will give the needed support.
