BY: JOSHUA ADINOYI

In the face of the current economic hardship experienced in the Country, Nigerians have been called upon to be sincere in their dealings with one another and make things easier for themselves.

The Councillor Representing Owode Ibeshe in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Hon. Mathew Kolade Olufemi (MKO) Arowolo, made the call in a telephone interview.

Dr. MKO Arowolo said the call became necessary in view of the manner the citizens now make life more difficult for themselves under the guise of the current economic hardship, noting that it was important for them to put themselves in others shoes before doing things, especially those who are into the business of selling goods.

The Councillor who is serving his second tenure as Majority Leader, Igbogbo Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State lamented the manner some marketmen and women engages in unnecessary artificial hike in the price food items, noting that such affects majorly the common men on the street and called for consideration for a better society.

“My advice to the people is something I have been practicing. We should try and share with others. Whatever you have that is meant for only you is not useful. Learn to share with others

“Lets be fair with ourselves, the Marketmen and women should be fair with their pricing. The Transporters too should be fair. We should for God sake, make things easier for ourselves so that things can change for good in the nearest future in our Country”, he stressed.

Speaking to Leaders at various levels of power, Hon. MKO Arowolo enjoined them to tighten their seat belts and deliver on their Campaign promises.

Dr. MKO Arowolo noted that leadership is a call to serve the people, calling on Leaders to begin to live up to expectations in the discharge of their duties.

“A call to Leadership is a call to service not for personal enrichment at the expense of the people that place you there as their Leader – that is the differences between Nigeria and other Countries but I believe Nigeria will get there soon

“I beg everyone in power who took mandate from the people to be sincere with it and always remember that we all have six feet beneath the earth

“Whatever we do here on earth, somebody in heaven who is our God will ask us questions. So let’s do things that we will boldly and proudly give account of whenever He calls us home

“We should be responsible enough to meet the yearnings of the people who gave us their mandate and stop amassing wealth that may not be useful to our generations to come because of our greediness” he added.
