Usman Ahmed Ododo Sworn in as Kogi Governor

Ododo Ahmed Usman, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and winner of the November 11, 2023 Governorship Election in Kogi State has been sworn in as substantive Governor of the State.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Ododo won with 446,237 votes, defeating his opponents in other political parties.

Ododo was sworn in as the 5th Executive Governor Kogi State by the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Mejabi at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Centre in Lokoja on Saturday.

Earlier on his Deputy, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo was administered oath of allegiance amidst cheers from a mammoth crowd of personalities and well wishers.

Highlights of the event displays how former Governor Yahaya Bello physically handed over documents of governance to Ododo.

The swearing in ceremony was attented by lots of great personalities, with the Vice President, Alhaji Kashim Shettima representing President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje.

Hon. Leke Abejide, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Governorship election was also in attendance.
