Rainstorm Disaster: Leke Abejide Appeals To NEMA For Special Intervention For Constituents

The Honourable Member, Representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide has appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), to come to the aid of the victims of the rainstorm disaster in Yagba Communities.

It could be recalled that three days ago the rainfall around the affected communities was accompanied by thunderous storms that destroyed over three hundred buildings and prosperities including, schools, shops and hospitals.

Abejide, while commiserating with victims, called on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to come to the aid of the affected individuals in his constituency.

The member described, the damages done by the storm as monumental which has paralyzed commercial activities of the people in affected communities especially Isanlu.

He disclosed that his team had recorded over Three Hundred (300) houses affected and grossly hampered by the disaster.

He further revealed the incident has rendered mamy families displaced, homeless and many goods damaged during the heavy storm in Isanlu, Iyamerin and Odo-Ere.

“I commiserate with my people who had their properties damaged by the rain storm. I am more worried about the monumental destruction of properties in the affected communities”.

“I appeal to the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA foe their intervention to come to the aid of the affected households and families for relief materials to be made available to them”, he said.
