HARDSHIP: Kogi Govt. Prepares for Another Palliative Distribution

Kogi State Government, under the Leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, is set for another palliative distribution to cushion the current hardship faced by the people.

The three members Committee inaugurated by the State government include the State Commissioner for Humanitarian, Hajiya Rabiatu Okute, Director-General Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency, Hajiya Aishat Oyiza Omade and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) – Hon. Muktar Atima.

A statement by the Head of Media, Communications & ICT, Kogi State Social Investment Program Agency, Dami Adenuga, explained that they said the two trucks arrived the State on Tuesday, March 19th and was offloaded on Wednesday, 20th March 2024, stressing that more are expected.

The Committee Members said the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has promised to ensure that those in need receives the necessary assistance and care during the current challenging period.

The DG, Kogi State Social Investment Programme Agency Haj. Aisha Oyiza Omade in her remark said the palliatives will get to every strata of the society, explaining that significant initiative is underway to provide essential palliative care to the vulnerable in the State.

She stressed that there will be a similar Committee at the Local Government Areas to ensure seamless distribution of the palliatives, in line with the promises made to the people of the State by Governor Ododo.

The House of Representatives Member representing Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, Hon. Paul Gowon who is also a Member of House Committee on NEMA, was at the Warehouse to check the progress of the palliative reception.
