Kogi: Forum Provides Free Medical Services To Igah Ocheba Community In Olamaboro

A group, Ocheba Like Minds Forum (OLM), has offered free medical services to over 250 indigent people of Igah Ocheba community in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

OLM is a group of nine persons and individuals in the Academic and Public Service with mission to providing quality healthcare services to vulnerables in the society.

Addressing the beneficiaries on Sunday in Ocheba, Dr Jeremiah Oberah, the OLM President, stressed the importance of community health initiatives and the commitment of the forum to improving the well-being of the people.

Obera emphasised the significance of access to quality healthcare services and expressed gratitude to the volunteers and partners who contributed to making the medical outreach a reality.

He said the skilled healthcare professionals volunteered their time and expertise to provide care and support to individuals of all ages, addressing various health concerns and promoting preventive measures.

According to him, about 250 beneficiaries from Igah Ocheba and its environs benefitted from the maiden edition of the OLM medical outreach.

He said the success of the free medical tutreach was a testament to the power of community engagement and collective action in addressing health challenges and improving the quality of life for all residents.

He advised the people to always take care of the health, saying, “health is wealth”.

The National Chairman of the Ocheba Progressive Association (OPA), Mr Nathaniel Idoko; who declared the medical outreach opened, commended the efforts of the forum in organising such a beneficial program for the community.

Idoko encouraged residents to take advantage of the services provided and stressed the importance of regular health check-ups for their overall well-being.

Also speaking, Dr. Emmanuel Abah, one of the resource medical doctors, commended OLM for a successful maiden outing.

Abah commended the residents for their turnout, and appealed to OLM to help in improving on the existing health facility in the community.

Mr. David Ameh, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the OLM for the initiative, and for exhibiting a high sense of love for their homestead by giving back to their root.

Ameh prayed for God’s guidance and protection over the members of the forum.

The free medical outreach featured a range of essential healthcare services including general medical consultations.

Other included blood pressure and sugar level check-ups, health education sessions, and free drugs dispensing, among others.
