A Governorship Aspirant in Edo State, Paul Agbonze Obazele from Okhuesan Esan South East, has resigned his Membership from his Party, the Labour Party.
Paul Obazele in a Letter titled “RESIGNATION FROM THE LABOUR PARTY AND FUTURE POLITICAL ENDEAVOURS”, announced that he has now join the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) ahead of the Governorship race in the State.
He explained that some of the reasons for the Resignation of his Membership from the Party was that his personal values and beliefs have evolved, leading him to feel that they no longer perfectly align with the principles and ideologies of the Labour Party.
The Nigerian Actor, Director, Philanthropist and Movie Producer who once served as a two Time President of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), also cited Policy Differences, Lack of Alignment, ambitions and goals, among others, as reasons for the resignation.
Paul who at the end of his tenure as President of AMP he was appointed the President of Edo Film Makers Association (EFMA), appreciated the people of Edo State for their unwavering support so far, promising that he will continue to keep them informed as event unravels.

RESIGNATION FROM THE LABOUR PARTY AND FUTURE POLITICAL ENDEAVOURS
I hope this message finds you well. I thought it necessary and expedient to take this opportunity to communicate with you all directly regarding an important decision I have recently made. After careful consideration and introspection, I have the difficult choice to resign from my Membership within the Labour Party. I believe it is important to be transparent with you about the reasons behind this decision.
PERSONAL VALUES:Â
Over the last couple of months, my personal values and beliefs have evolved, leading me to feel that they no longer perfectly align with the principles and ideologies of the Labour Party. It is crucial for me to act in accordance with my core values, which guide my commitment to public service and good governance.
POLICY DIFFERENCES:
While Labour Party has many admirable policies, there have been specific instances where I found myself disagreeing on certain salient issues. As an Aspirant EDO2024 Governorship, it is imperative that I stand by policies that reflect my vision for effective governance and better representation.
LACK OF ALIGNMENT:Â
In recent times, i have observed a lack of alignment between my own vision for progress and the direction of the Labour Party. I believe it is vital to be surrounded by a team that shares a common purpose and works towards a unified goal. After careful consideration, I believe a different platform will provide me with the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and work towards the future i envision for the good people of this great State of Edo, otherwise called The Heartbeat Of The Nation.
AMBITIONS AND GOALS:Â
As I embark on this new journey, I want to assure everyone that my ambitions and goals remain unwavering. My utmost priority is to serve you, the people of this heartbeat state, in the most effective and dedicated manner possible. By contesting the Governorship Primaries on a new platform, Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), I believe and more convinced I can better represent your interests and address profoundly the pressing challenges facing our Communities and the State.

Throughout my previous Membership and in my upcoming Candidacy, my commitment to serving not only the State, but bringing rapid growth and development to all Communities remains resolute. I firmly believe that by joining a different platform, ZENITH LABOUR PARTY, I can better serve your needs, make meaningful contributions to our collective progress, and work towards a prosperous and inclusive future.
I genuinely appreciate the immense support and trust you have placed in me thus far. Please know that your hopes, concerns, and aspirations are the driving force behind my decision to take this new path. I will continue to keep you informed throughout this journey, ensuring that our voices are heard and our dreams realized.
