As part of security measures to combat the escalating issues of insecurity in Kogi East, the Federal Government has deployed a company and platoon of Army personnel in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area and Ejule, Ofu LGA of Kogi State to provide security for the people of the Area.
The feat is said to have been achieved following the call on the Federal Government to urgently intervene and provide necessary security in kogi East in general through a motion of urgent public importance moved and passed in the green chamber on 12th March 2024 by the House of Representatives Member Representing Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN) after the recent bank robbery in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Hon. Paul Haruna, while reacting to Federal Government’s prompt deployment of army personnel to the Area, Hon. Haruna in a statement issued in his office in Abuja, commended Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo for their prompt response that has made the lofty dream a reality.
He also commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and the relevant committees of the house for standing with him and the people of his constituency at their time of difficulties.
He urged the people of his Constituency to continue to support the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to attract more dividends of democracy to the Area.
He also solicited for their support for the security personnel deployed to protect them and their property, by volunteering necessary information that can help them carry out their assignment effectively and never allow themselves to be used to sabotage their patriotic efforts.
Rt. Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna (IJN) said he remain dedicated to advocating for the welfare of his constituents and will continue to work tirelessly to address pressing issues affecting the hardworking people of Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency.
