Revised CONMESS: Kogi NVMA Begs Kogi Governor For Harmonization And Implementation

Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Kogi state chapter, has appealed to Governor Usman Ododo to consider the harmonization and implementation of revised Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) approved by the immediate past Governor for all the doctors in the State’s Civil Service.

Addressing newsmen in Lokojoa on Tuesday, Chairman of the association, Dr. Tolu Omotugba noted that implementation was done for human doctors alone leaving out veterinary doctors in the State.

Omotugba commended Governor Ododo for fulfilling his campaign promises of paying its members 100% hazard allowance.

He said the veterinarians and indeed all health workers in the state were appreciative of the governor’s good gesture and promised to serve the state with their best abilities and intellects.

The association commend the previous administration under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello for recruiting 26 veterinary doctors into the State civil service and also providing the enabling environment for them to carry out their duties by signing into law the Meat Hygiene and Animal Disease Control Bills.

They noted that the recruitment was novel and in fact, the first of its kind since the creation of Kogi State.
