A Former Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and 2019 Lagos East Senatorial Candidate, Princess Islamiyat Oyefusi, stated this while reacting to the emergence of Hon. Agboola Ajayi as the Governorship Candidate of the Party in Ondo State.
Princess Islamiyat who was the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 Governorship Election in Lagos State, congratulated Hon. Ajayi for emerging victorious at the Primaries of the PDP as the sole Candidate of the Party, expressing optimism that he will live up to expectations if he becomes the Governor of Ondo State.
Hon. Agboola Ajayi, a former Deputy Governor in Ondo State, won the State’s (PDP) primary elections with 246 Votes to clinch the Party’s ticket.
Hon. Agboola defeated his co-contestants, Hon. Kolade Akinjo who polled 157 votes, Sola Ebiseni – 99 votes, Adeolu Akinwunmi – 64 votes, Bamidele Akingboye – 24 votes, John Ola Mafo polled 9 votes and Bosun Arebuwa who had 2 votes.
Hon. Agboola Ajayi who left the All Progressives Congress APC for the PDP in 2020, then emerged candidate of the ZLP thereafter, and later returned to the PDP to run for Senate in 2023, is now the flag bearer of the opposition PDP in Ondo State ahead of the state governorship election slated to hold in November 2024.
No doubt, it is going to be a straight battle between two Deputy Governors who worked with the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, as the incumbent Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the APC will now face his predecessor who was the then Akeredolu’s Deputy.
Indeed,it is going to be a thug of all political war,by November,this year.
