Gov. Ododo Directs Immediate Formation of Security Committee to Tackle Robbery Attacks on FUL Students

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed immediate formation of Security Committee to tackle robbery attacks on some Students of the Federal University Lokoja, with a view to investigate and bring perpetrators to book.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Student Matters, Amb. Oladele John Nihi (OJN) revealed this when he met with student delegation from the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) and the Association of Nigeria Female Students (ANFS) to address the recent incessant attacks on students in Felele, Lokoja by thugs and cultists at Bassa Village in Felele, Lokoja.

OJN said the Committee comprises of relevant security agents, re-echoing that the present administration, just like the previous, has zero tolerance for Cult activities and Thuggery in the State.

“His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo vehemently condemns these attacks and in response, has directed the formation of a committee comprising relevant authorities and security personnel to thoroughly investigate, swiftly identify those responsible and put an immediate end to these distressing incidents

“To those behind these acts of terror, I urge an immediate cessation and retreat. Be warned that there will be no leniency for anyone caught. Kogi State is no place for cultism and thuggery

“And to our dear students, you are not alone. The Governor is deeply committed to the safety and well-being of every student in Kogi State. Be rest assured that we will utilize all necessary resources to apprehend the perpetrators, ensure they face the full extent of the law, and guarantee your continued safety”, the SA added.

At the early hours of Friday, 22nd March 2024, some students resident at the Student Community, Bassa Village in Felele axis in Lokoja, Kogi State Capital, were reportedly robbed and brutalized with some sustaining various degrees of injuries.
