My Ogoni Fathers, My Ogoni Leaders, My Ogoni Uncles, Brothers and Sisters, whom we share the same mother tongue.

My name is UEBARI and I am from Great Kono-Town, the cradle of civilization in Ogoni-Land, in Ward Eleven, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

I have lived in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja Nigeria, for the past fourteen (14) Years, with my Wife and Three (3) Children, very young Family.

I am a Seasoned Professional Accountant, a Forensic Auditor-in-View and a Consummate Ex-Banker. I have previously practiced and worked with three major Financial Institutions in Nigeria:

a.) Guaranty Trust Bank Plc;

b.) Intercontinental Bank Plc,

c.) Access Bank Plc.

Currently, I am a Businessman, Contractor, and Politician and the Managing Director/CEO of my Company.

MY MOTIONS:

1. Three Hundred Million US Dollars ($300,000,000.00) Money for the Development and Welfare of OGONI People, who took the Money…?

Why is the OGONI Leaders, Chiefs, Elders and our Politicians Representing different Constituencies are Silent on the matter and NOT demanding the Money, even when they visited State House, to see Mr. President ? We need answers, please tell us what you know about this Money.

2. The Petroleum Industry Act (PIA); that approved the compulsory 3% Host Community Trust Fund. The PIA has been in operations governing the Oil & Gas Sector of the Nigerian Economy.

Who is Collecting the 3% Host Community Money, for OGONI-LAND ??? We need answers, please tell us what you know about this Money.

3. Resumption of Oil and Gas Exploration and Production in OGONI-LAND:

Recently, our Ogoni Leaders, Chiefs and Elders, the President, National Youth Council of Ogoni People (NYCOP) visited His Excellency President Bola Ahmad Tinubu (GCFR), in Aso Rock Presidential Villa Abuja. I was reliably informed that one of the items on the agenda at the meeting with Mr, President, was the Unbundling the Oil & Gas Assets in Ogoni-Land that will pave way for the Resumption of Oil and Gas Exploration and Production in OGONI-LAND, which is a welcome development. But the Question is, why was a Government recognized First Class Chief, His Royal Majesty (HRM) King T.Y Baridam, NOT present at such high powered Meeting with President Bola Ahmad Tinubu (GCFR)…? And why was the Three Hundred Million US Dollars ($300,000,000.00) issues NOT mentioned to Mr. President… We need answers to this questions.

4. The issue of BODO -BONNY ROAD PROJECT:

The history of this project started since 1977. Now fast-forward , President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) awarded the Bodo – Bonny Road Project to Julius Berger in 2019. Which he expected that the road will be completed before he leaves office, but it was not possible… His Excellency President Bola Ahmad Tinubu (GCFR) continued the Bodo-Bonny Road Project and Julius Berger Plc, asked for further variations of the Project, from the Federal Ministry of Works, which the Ministry consented and as at today Per Kilometers of the Bodo-Bonny Road, cost #6.22 Billion Naira yet, Julius Berger Plc refused to return to site, in fact Julius Berger Plc used midnight to pack all their Equipment from Site. I, Ambassador Piegbe, Emmanuel Uebari, Chairman Ogoni Youth Assembly Abuja (OYAA) and the Abuja Coordinator, Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP Abuja), on a Live TV coverage, Channels TV, AIT, NTA, TVC, AriseTV and other media stations, I personally engaged and asked the Honourable Minister of Works, His Excellency Dave Umahi, on the Bodo-Bonny Road Project and the Lagos- Calabar Coastal Highway Project, at the Critical Stakeholders Engagement Meeting, held in EKO Hotel and Suites Victoria Island Lagos State. Why is our Leadership, Traditional Rulers and Political Leaders, silent and refused to speak on this critical OGONI Development and Welfare issues…??? We need answers, please tell us what you know now, before it will be too late… Because NEW OGONI DEVELOPMENT AND WELFARE AGENDA IS POSSIBLE.

5. Finally on this motion, for the past two (2) months, for the genuine passion and zeal for the Welfare and Development of OGONI-LAND, I left the comfort of my family and my Abuja Home, to Lagos State, to follow up and get first hand information on the “LAGOS – CALABAR COASTAL HIGHWAY PROJECT” which according to the Honourable Minister of Works, Dava Umahi, One Kilometers of the Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway Project Cost #4 Billion Naira; and the total contract sum as at today without variation is #16.6 Trillion Naira awarded to HITECH Construction Company Limited. Now this Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway Project, in its current design is passing through some Coastal Towns and Villages in OGONI-LAND, in Rivers State. I have watched and observed with keen interest how the operations of the Construction Company relates and interface with Host Communities for employment of unskilled Labour, Security, Supply of Sand and Cements in Lagos and the prompt payment of Compensation for major properties that Demolition affected in Lagos State. It will interest you to know that 100% unskilled Labourers, security men, is employed from the Host Communities in Lagos State. Kindly Note in advance, the Host Communities in Lagos were the first Ten Kilometers of the Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway Project has been done, full local content was implemented, even up to the Supply of Sand and Cement… I am giving this information to both our Ogoni Traditional Rulers and Political Leaders, so that when HITECH Construction Company Limited, arrives OGONI-LAND in Rivers State, the OGONI Youth will also take charge of Local Content. The way Lagos Youth also took charge of Local Content.

NEW OGONI WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENDA IS POSSIBLE.WE MUST CHANGE THE NARRATIVES
