Echocho’s Attack: Police Confirmed Arrest, Say Will Serve As Deterrent To Others

The police have confirmed the arrest of six suspects in connection with an attack on the Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho (APC|Kogi East).

This was confirmed in a statement issued by police spokesperson, William Ovye Aya, in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Aya said the lawmaker was attacked on Tuesday in Lokoja, the state capital, after a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello.

The Senator had visited the governor alongside other members of the National Assembly from the State.

Echocho was said to have been attacked after he and others left the governor’s office.

The police said the arrested suspects would be charged to court to serve as deterrent to others.

The police appealed to the people of the State to remain law-abiding and continue to collaborate with security agencies on the activities of criminal elements in the State.
