The Okehi Local Government Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Amoka Monday Odu, has paid a visit to the family that found and adopted the month-old baby girl dumped along Okehi Trailer park Abobo.
The Chairman was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Matthew James Omeiza, who visited Madam Husseina Muhammad, the caring mother, to obtain their address and reaffirm the local government’s support.
The heartwarming incident occurred when Mr. Abdulkareem discovered the abandoned baby while crossing the road early in the morning. Without hesitation, he immediately rescued the crying infant and handed her over to his mother, Madam Husseina Muhammad, who promptly bathed the baby and decided to adopt her.
In response to this act of compassion, Hon. Matthew James Omeiza assured Madam Husseina Muhammad of the promises made by Hon. Amoka Monday Odu. Furthermore, he pledged a token payment into her account to support the baby’s feeding, in addition to the assistance already pledged by Hon. Amoka Monday Odu.
“The local government will do everything humanly possible to ensure that the baby will not lack the presence of a mother and father,” asserted Hon. Matthew James Omeiza. “It is heartening to witness acts of kindness like this, and we will never turn our back on this house.”
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Madam Husseina Muhammad and the Community Vice Chairman, Mall Akwoji, for their selflessness and compassion in providing a loving and caring home for the abandoned baby.
The Okehi Local Government remains committed to the welfare of its residents and emphasizes the importance of community support and unity.
