In furtherance of the directives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards the revival of the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON), the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu and the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Mrs. Olu Verheijen, met with the Management of ALSCON at the Minister’s Office in Abuja to chart the way forward.
The crux of the meeting was the resolution of the legal impasse concerning ALSCON, natural gas supply, and the issue of gas pricing for the operationalization of the Aluminium plant.
Prince Audu reiterated the commitment of the ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda of President Tinubu to reviving the steel and metals sector and resuscitating every moribund steel and metal Plant in the Country.
The Minister noted that all issues regarding ALSCON would be resolved to commence operations as soon as possible.
