LG Polls: Ankpa APC Stakeholders Endorse Hon Ademu Yahaya As Party Candidate

The critical Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ankpa Local Government Area (LGA), have unanimously endorsed and adopted Hon. Ademu Muhammed Yahaya, as the party candidate for October 19 LG Elections in Kogi State.

The stakeholders made the endorsement and adoption at a meeting held on Tuesday in Lokoja, which was presided over by Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman.

The stakeholders, in their various comments, expressed their commitment to unite in agreement, and to stand by the party decision as well as work for its overall interest in winning the election.

The party leadership appreciated all the contenders for their understanding and commitment to ensure that the party emerged victorious in Ankpa LGA and the entire state at large.

The stakeholders stressed that both the party and the good people of Ankpa have confidence that the adopted candidate, would perform very well.

They emphasised that Ademu had started with the good work as Caretaker Chairman, and expressed their confidence in his ability to do more for his people and make the party proud.

The highlights of the meeting was the spirit of party-men demonstrated by other contenders who voluntarily stepped down for the overall interest of the party and Ankpa LGA.

They noted that the gesture was for the unity and cohesion of the party.

The contenders consequently adopted Hon. (Engineer) Ademu Mohammed Yahaya, as the sole candidate of the party ahead of the Primary and general election.

Other critical stakeholders at the meeting include: Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim Alih, Member Representing Ankpa Federal Constituency cum Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives; Hon. Ishaq Musa, Zonal Organising Secretary of APC; and Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu, immediate past Chairman of Ankpa LGA.

Others were: Hon. Momoh Rabiu Alfa, SA to Kogi State Governor on Legislative Matters; Hon. Ahmed Muhammed, former Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly; Hon. Lawal Akus, Member Representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency at the Kogi House of Assembly.

Hon. Abbas Ibrahim, Member Representing Ankpa II State Constituency at the Kogi House of Assembly; Hon. Idris Musa, former Kogi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports; Hon. Hauwa T. Adukwu, State Women Leader of APC; and Dr. Muhammed Kabiru Ibrahim, Provost, KGCOE, Ankpa.

Others include: Hon. Wahab Danbala, SSA on Rural and Urban Migration; Hon. Sheikh Sani Musa, SSA to Kogi State Governor on Ethics and Values; Hajia Rabi Haruna, former State Women Leader of APC; Hon. Nasiru Yahaya (Lexoo); Alh. AbdulKarim Muhammed (A.K. Odawn); and Hon. Muhammad Salihu Jibril, APC Chairman, Ankpa Local Government, among others.

Meanwhile, Hon. Ayuba Nana, former LGA Administrator and Special Adviser on Security Matters (Ankpa Federal Constituency) sent his apology for not been able to attend the meeting due to official engagement.

The contenders are: Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu, Hon. Sheikh Sani Musa, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammed (Ayuba Nana), Hon. Kamilu Abdullahi, Hon. Muhammed Lawal Abubakar and Mr. Aminu Haruna.
