Gov. Ododo Attends Youth/Student Hangout, Promises Youth Inclusive Governance in Kogi

Youth in Kogi State have been assured of more leadership roles in the days ahead.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo gave the assurance in a Message to the YOUTH/STUDENT HANGOUT held at the Youth House, Former Children Amusement Park in Lokoja, the State Capital.

Represented by the State Auditor General for Local Government, Yakubu Adabenege Fancy, Governor Ododo expressed joy over the gathering of youth whom he described as Leaders of today.

The Number One Citizen of Kogi State heep praises on his Chief Press Secretary, Oladele John Nihi (OJN) for his eagle eye at suggesting the Youth Hangout before the election, stating that the initiative will be sustained to give the youth more opportunity to interact with appointees.

The Governor’s representative said the messages/requests of the youth at the event will be properly communicated to Governor Ododo, promising that more youth will be appointed into the cabinet of the present administration.

He enjoined the youth to be more security conscious by reporting suspicious persons to relevant authorities, stressing that the State Government is keen to ensuring the security of lives and property of the people of the Confluence State.

Governor Ododo assured of his administration’s continuous support to the success of the YOUTH/STUDENT HANGOUT which he said has helped in bringing youth together to brianstorm on issues that matters and help move the State forward.

Earlier in his address, the Kogi State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comr. Benjamin Ojodale, assured of the support of Youth in the State to the current administration, describing them as law abiding citizens.

Comr. BenJerry requested for inclusiveness of NYCN in the upcoming appointment, more attention to the wellbeing of kogi youth and also asked for delivery of good governance that will better the lives of all Kogites.

Support Ododo To Succeed – Smart Adeyemi To Kogites

In his address, Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Anyebe, described Kogi youth as a people who are ready to build the Nation, calling on them to remain law abiding in all their dealings within and outside the State.

The first Chairman of NYCN in Kogi State, Comr. Haroun Opotu, expressed joy over the progress of the Association in the State, promising to continue to render helping hands and good advice where necessary for the benefit of all.

The Caretaker Chairmen of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu and his colleague of Kabba-Bunu LGA – Barrister Zacchaeus Dare Michael, commended the State government for according attention to youth in the State.

While Adamu requested for inclusiveness of the elderly ones who still have a lot to offer the State into governance, Barr. Dare requested that more youth be appointed into various positions to enable them use their youthful ability to impact the society positively.

A Former Commissioner for youth and Sports Development in the State – Salisu Ogu, various youth Leaders, Student Bodies, Market Women among others, attended the event which featured food eating competition where winners emerged with prizes.
