Today, Hon. Dare Joshua, also known as Venza, the Executive Chairman of Yagba East Local Government Area (LGA), commended Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for prioritizing healthcare in the state. He announced the readiness of his administration to collaborate with the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency (KGSHIA) to expand access to healthcare through the Vital Care Health Insurance Program.
Speaking at a meeting with the KGSHIA team during their courtesy visit to his office, Hon. Joshua emphasized the importance of reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. “It is pertinent that we contribute to alleviating these costs, and health insurance stands as one of the safest and most reliable ways to achieve this,” he stated. He expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting Governor Ododo’s health initiatives and ensuring that vulnerable and underprivileged residents of Yagba East have access to quality healthcare.
The chairman praised KGSHIA’s efforts in delivering guaranteed healthcare services to its enrollees and committed to partnering with the agency to extend these benefits to his constituents.
Hon. Abraham Jacob, a Permanent Member of KGSHIA who led the visiting team, outlined the significance of health insurance for governments, individuals, and corporate organizations. He highlighted the quality care provided to KGSHIA enrollees across accredited healthcare facilities and assured Hon. Joshua that the proposed partnership would yield excellent outcomes.
He further acknowledged the leadership of Dr. Aledare Adekunke, the Executive Secretary of KGSHIA, for maintaining a high standard of service delivery. Jacob reiterated that healthcare is a key agenda of Governor Ododo’s administration, and KGSHIA remains committed to advancing this goal through comprehensive health insurance coverage.
