Governance is all about service delivery, not declaring profit and lose. The Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Governor Umar Namadi, is one that stands high among others who believes in the philosophy of delivering services to his people. He considers solving their immediate problems as paramount and he is one who does not condone injustice and criminality.
With this background, i will then use this opportunity to make it public one salient issue which many people seem not to pay attention to. Most leaders pay attention to one but paying leap service to the other.
The twelve points Agender of His Excellency, Governor Umar Namadi are all offshoots of those two issues of governance which are;
i) Human Development and
ii) Infrastructural Development
But his Excellency Governor, Umar Namadi have them all. In less than 18 months in Office, he has invested so much in the aforementioned areas. For example;
I. Human Development:
Consider the following programs (4 J’s)
(a) J-teach
(b) J-health
(c) J-cares
(d) J-agro
They are all aspect of Human Development where many youths are involved in self-sustaining programs. Before, those youths were languishing and wandering aimlessly and hopelessly in our towns and villages, which may lead some to involve in one aspect of criminal activities or the other because “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop”.
Looking at various empowerment programs undertaken by the Agency for Empowerment and Employment, one will be right to say that “DA A BAKA KIFI GWARA A KOYA MA YADDA ZAKA KAMA KIFIN”
That is to say “to be taught how to catch a fish is better than to be dashed the fish”. What Danmodi has been doing is teaching one how to catch the fish.
In the subsequent edition, I will enumerate more on the 4 J’s and the various Empowerment Programs executed by DANMODI’S administration and discussion on Infrastructural Development will then follow.
However, he established a 10-Man Committee for the implementation of New Minimum Wage in the State recently and Workers are expecting a good, amazing, exciting, awesome and positive outcome from both the Committee and the Executive Governor.
