Gov. Ododo Receives KOICA Country Director, Sungil Son, Rector NKFI

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo on Thursday received the Country Director of Korea International Corporation Agency (KOICA), Mr. Sungil Son alongside Rector, Nigeria Korea Friendship Institute (NKFI) of Vocational and Advanced Technology, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin on a courtesy call.

Governor Ododo in his remarks thanked the Korean Country Director for the courtesy visit and the strong partnership the cooperation agency has had through the NKFI.

He expressed that Kogi State and his Government was committed to partner with the Korean Government while he urged the Country Director to facilitate the establishment of giant Korean Technological Companies like Samsung, LG and the likes in a bid to boast the socio-economic potentials of the state. He assured them of adequate security and availability of land to establish their businesses.

The Governor used the occasion to commend the Rector, NKFI Williams Charles Oluwatoyin for his resilience and hard work which has paid off for everyone to see, while he made promise that the Government would through the institute empower Kogi Youths across the State in acquiring skills which he pointed out to be the bedrock of the 21st Century.

The KOICA Country Director in his remarks, used the occasion to congratulate the state governor on his successful inauguration while he also expressed appreciation to the Kogi State Government for its continuous support to the friendship Institute, NKFI.

He mentioned that the institution recently got full accreditation from the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) as a result of the great support and the funds made available by the state government even under tight conditions. The Country Director testified that such effort by the government was a strong reflection and commitment to technical and vocational education.

Mr. Sungil informed the Governor that a new Korean Ambassador would resume in a couple of weeks and Kogi State would be his first point of duty while he reiterated that the Korean Government remained committed towards a positive collaboration with the state in several areas of interest and benefits.

Earlier while Introducing the KOICA’s Country Director to the Governor, Mr. Williams Charles congratulated the Governor on his inauguration and the consolidation mandate which has been committed to him by his processor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The Rector however hinted Governor Ododo that with it’s state-of-the-art equipments, the Institute is capable of Putting an end to crime and insecurity in the state and also wipe out unemployment from the state and even beyond if allowed to do so.

The Secretary to the State Government Mrs. Ayoade Folashade Arike PhD. who initially hosted the State guests, led the visitors to meet with Governor Ododo.
