The Caretaker Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. John Urah Ikani, the Brigadier General of Nigeria Army – Kogi State, Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, ACP Area Command Anyigba Division, DPO Anyigba station and the DSS, visited the scene of the Attacks carried out on Banks on Thursday, 7th March 2024 in Anyigba, Dekina LGA by yet to be identified Hoodlums.
A Statement by Faruna Commander Atogijo – Special Adviser on Media to the Caretaker Chairman Dekina LGA, explained that Hon. Ikani who expressed concern over the attack on the Financial Institutions, commended the efforts of Security Agencies – Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police and DSS for their quick response explaining that if not for their quick intervention, the worst would have happened.
The Caretaker Chairman advised the people of DEKINA LGA to remain calm, urging them to go about their normal businesses as Security men are on top of the situation.
He promised to fish out perpetrators of the attack, saying that they will be made to face the consequences of their actions.
The joint Security Agencies during the visit to the scene, condemned the attack and assured the people of Dekina to be calm as they are on top of the situation to ensure perpetrators are brought to justice.
At the scene, the Ogohi-Onuh Anyigba, Alhaji Abuh Shaibu Okolo who is the Traditional Ruler of Anyigba Community, commended the quick response of security Agencies to the ugly incident.
The Traditional Ruler assured the security agencies and the caretaker Chairman by that adequate information will be provided by engaging the community members.
