COET, Mopa: Elulu Breaks Ground For First TETFUND Project

The College of Education Technical, Mopa, today received the Elulu of Mopa and Chairman Mopamuro Traditional Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Muyiwa Ibeun and other Chiefs of Mopa Traditional Council for a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of lecture theatre, the first Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TEFUND) project since the school has been relocated from Kabba to Mopa.

Recall that the higher institution was relocated from Kabba, when Kogi State University, Kabba was established under the administration of the immediate former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Oba Ibeun appreciates him.

Oba Ibeun, during his speech, also appreciated the Federal Government and TETFUND under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu for remembering the institution as part of its lofty educational development initiatives and thanked the administration of the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo for their support in ensuring the school is relocated to Mopa and also providing an accommodating take-off ground.

The Provost of the College, Mrs. Victoria Jagboro PhD. lauds Oba Ibeun and the entire Mopa Traditional Council (MTC) for their encouragement and support in making sure the school take off with a full welfare package in Mopa. She said the lecturer theatre is a 150 students capacity one and has been funded for full furnishing, assured that it will be completed by September

Performing the ground breaking along Oba Ibeun and Mrs. Jagboro are Otunba of Mopa, Oba Saul Olojo, and the Balogun of Mopa, Oba Clarence Olafemi.

Other persons present during the ceremony are the Oba of Okeguru – Mopa, Oba Williams Olushola Agbaje, and the Baale of Ikeji, Chief Phillip Shola Mofobi.

The students unanimously appreciated Oba Ibeun, MTC, and Mopa Community for the good hospitality they received and are enjoying, also for the scholarship of over 100 students in the school, sponsored by the monarch.
