Minimum Wage: KOSU VC, Prof. Eniola, Appreciates Gov. Ododo, Tasks Staff on Renewed Commitment

Following the approval for implementation of the 72,500 naira minimum wage announcement by the government of Kogi State last Tuesday, the Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Professor K.I.T. Eniola has commended the governor of the state, Alhaji Usman Ododo for he described as strong commitment to the welfare of workers in the state. The Vice Chancellor made the remarks at a staff and management rapport which held in the main hall of the university.

He noted that the government of the state has distinguished itself as pro-workers and the N72,500 minimum wage which surpasses that of the federal government will stimulate the economy of the and set it on a realistic path of sustainable growth.

Professor Eniola appealed to workers particularly staff of the University to renew their commitment to the services of the institution, adding that every individual staff matters to the building of a strong and virile nation.

The professor of Environmental and Public Health Microbiology noted that the Kogi State University remained committed to the task of raising a generation of Nigerians who will be trained to become globally competitive, nationally recognized and locally relevant in any endeavor of life they find themselves. He added that under his watch, staff at all levels would be encouraged to find fulfilment in their duties, so as to be able to justify the commitment of the state.
