The Lawmaker Representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide has congratulated the Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Usman Ododo on the affirmation of his governorship election victory at Supreme Court.
Hon. Leke Abejide described the triumph of the Governor at the apex court as the ultimate win for the people of Kogi State.
He described the latest judicial victory of Ododo as the confirmation of the electoral wishes of the majority of Kogites who massively voted the Alhaji Ododo as the candidate of their choice and the validations of the Supreme Court on Ododo’s win is a victory for all Kogites.
Abejide said that the affirmation of Alhaji Usman Ododo by the apex court as the Governor of Kogi State has laid to rest all doubts and controversies raised by the individuals and other political parties about the November 11th election.
Hon. Leke Abejide advised other political party candidates like him who participated in the gubernatorial election to join hands with Governor Ododo to move the state forward politically, economically, and socially in the interest of all Kogites.
He also advised the candidates and parties whose petitions and appeals were not successful at the courts to accept the hand of fellowship earlier extended to them by the Governor since there must be an end to litigation after the electorate had spoken with their votes.
Election petition is part of democracy and a better way to ventilate grievances arising from the conduct of polls, Hon. Abejide said the aggrieved candidates have legitimately explored avenues to seek redress rather than resorting to self-help.
Abejide also charged leaders and supporters of the ruling party to be magnanimous in victory while counterparts in the opposition should accept the outcome of the court verdict in good faith and explore ways to work together with their principals for a united and prosperous Kogi State.
He enjoined all Kogites irrespective of their political, ethnic and religious leanings to support the administration of Alhaji Usman Ododo and his vision to positively serve and make around the fortunes of Kogi through his agenda now that his election has been confirmed as legitimate by the apex court.
