Your Excellency,
I am compelled to bring to your attention the disturbing trend of events unfolding between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and our valued member, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State. The EFCC’s recent actions and statements reek of desperation and malicious intent, deviating from their supposed fight against corruption.
The agency’s operational blunders and bullying tactics have not only tarnished its image but also undermined the rule of law, causing concern among Nigerians. It is alarming that the EFCC is targeting Yahaya Bello, considering his undeniable contributions to our party, the APC. It it not to say Yahaya Bello is above the law but this must be followed, duly.
Since 2015, Yahaya Bello has ensured that no serious opposition emerged from Kogi State, demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to the party. In 2019, he led the party to a landslide victory, securing all National Assembly and House of Assembly seats. His leadership also yielded a second tenure victory, unprecedented in its margin.
Moreover, Bello successfully unified the party in Kogi State, fostering a cohesive and strong political front. He produced a capable successor, Ododo Ahmed Usman, unlike some of his counterparts who struggled to maintain party unity. His efforts, alongside other governors, in challenging the cashless policy and naira redesign, protected Nigerians’ interests and paved the way for our party’s success.
Yahaya Bello’s achievements extend beyond politics. He implemented various developmental projects in Kogi State, including infrastructure development, education, and healthcare reforms. His dedication to the people of Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole is unwavering, as he led Nigerian youths in millions to vote in the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Given these accomplishments and more, it is perplexing that the EFCC is targeting him wrongly. The National Leadership’s silence on this matter is equally concerning. We urge you to intervene and call the EFCC to order through the Presidency. A thorough investigation into the EFCC’s actions and motivations regarding Yahaya Bello is imperative.
The EFCC’s actions raise several questions:
– What is the true motive behind the EFCC’s targeting of Yahaya Bello?
– Is this a case of selective justice or political vendetta?
– How can the EFCC justify its operational blunders and disregard for the rule of law?
We request a comprehensive investigation into these matters, ensuring transparency and accountability. The truth must be uncovered, and justice served.
