Mopamuro local Government is the smallest out of the three local Government Area that make yagba federal constituency in kogi State with the headquarters located in mopa. The local Government consist of two district namely: Mopa and Amuro.
Mopa district has five political Ward and same applicable to Amuro. In both the state house of Assembly representation and that of the chairmanship of the local Government, it has been a norms/mutual understanding in the rotation of the two office between the two district since her creation in 1996 and the same political culture is working till tomorrow.
Currently, the Mopa district hold the house of Assembly seat and the chairmanship in Amuro district.
About seven months ago, the immediate past Governor of kogi State Alhaji Yahaya Bello appointed Hon. Bello Ademola Destinyglo in caretaking capacity for mopamuro, in a recent developments supreme Court verdict granted autonomy for the third tiers of Government in nigeria, the needs arises for the state government to conduct election into the 21 local local Government Area in the state through the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC)
This body has released timetable as regards the election in kogi State, fixed October 19, 2024 as the election day.
In preparation for the election mostly in mopamuro, this article’s content is on the activities of Hon. Ademola Bello who has served in acting on the table of the executive chairman within seven months.
SECURITY:
His approach on our insecurity with the approval of the state Governor employed 50 security personal for mainly local security & neighborhood watch, this yelded results as mopamuro is relatively peaceful. Now each community in the entire local government now has its own security formation and strategy fund by the council, the monthly security meeting is an inclusion of all the Paramount ruler of each community, inclusion of the non-indegene in their domin is a loudable one as every person is on the table of securing the environment where you residents.
EDUCATION:
Hon. Ademola Bello as the caretaker chairman gave express approval for the local Government full scholarship to 40 mopamuro local Government indegene at the relocation of kogi State college of education technical from kabba to Mopa. He went further to constitute education committee to look into the challenges of educationa sector of the local Government and to make possible solutions which delivered success aptly.
ECONOMY:
Before his resumption, the popular amuro market then which is the only notable and most populated market in amuro-kindom has been closed for a very lengthy time due to the non-availability of all amenities that could allowed the market to function, Hon Ademola personally make himself available at market for immediate re-opening, renovation of the buildings and the reconstruction of the parameter fence of the market. The market now function on a nine-days market day. This market served seven Community’s farm produce sales, buying and other economic trading actives every nine-days.
STAFF WELFARE:
Immediately he assumed office, he restored electricity of the local Government Secretariat which has not be in place for sometime just because of the teaming staff of the local Government can work under good and condusive environment, apart from that the other alternative source of electricity of the local Government received boost immediately.
AGRICULTURE:
Recently, Two set of Messer Fagusion tractors where refurbished to add-value from the local Government to the mechanised farmers in the local Government as this tractor are currently hired on a very low price as subsidy to mopamuro farmers. In the same vain, Seedlings distributions has taken place for free the farmers as the local Government is predominantly farmers.
SPORT DEVELOPMENT:
Sport is a cardinal point of uniting the people together, upon his assumption, he constituted Local Government sport committee with the mandate of re-awakening sport activities across the secondary and primary schools of the local Government, football competitions and sport doings has been activated within his seven-months tenure.
However, the general saying in town is that he can manage the local Government beyond what has been stipulated above as a mark in the office, some said if not because of the time frame he will have done more than this in providing many residual amenities to all the community.
Revelation shows, Ademola Bello is a one term council supervisory councilor of this Local Government which has given him a practical leverage on Local Government Administration politically.
As discussed, he is an architect of residual amenities we need to consolidate on his good and loudable foundation he started seven months ago.
He has won election in this local Government before with landslide victory when he contested for kogi State house of assembly, this is just a testament that he is a familiar figure with good records when it’s come to election.
On the election day, 19th of October, 2024 should be a date to display in one voice/jointly to vote Hon. Ademola Bello to complete his journey of making mopamuro local Government area greater.
Election matter apart, Hon Ademola even when not in politics paid school fees for many mopamuro indegene, kogi State Polytechnic, kwara poly, kaduna poly and kogi State University ayingba student of mopamuro origin benefits this humanitarian gesture of him till tomorrow, this he do personally and not political inclined.
He is a popular personality in mopamuro as he is refers to as ” destiny ” or Gbefun Omo’ologo,
