The Kogi State Government has opened up a 5km alternate route in Nyamanyama Village along Ganaja – Ajaokuta road to serve as a bypass in case the original Ganaja road become impassable due to flooding.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s swift response to the devastating floods in Kogi State exemplifies his administration’s commitment to good governance and the well-being of his people. By opening a 5km alternative route in 500 units through Nyamanyama to Ganaja Village, his government has demonstrated proactive measures to mitigate the impact of flooding on commuters.

This strategic move ensures that motorists and passengers are spared the ordeal of being stranded on flooded roads, showcasing Ododo’s dedication to responsive governance.

The Governor’s directive to the Flood Disaster Response Team to establish an alternate road reflects his administration’s prioritization of citizens’ safety and convenience. This humane approach to governance is particularly significant, given the flood’s devastating effects on the state, with properties worth billions lost and many communities submerged earlier.

The Kogi State Government’s prompt action to create an alternative route demonstrates its commitment to mitigating flood-related hardships. Governor Ododo’s administration has shown its willingness to listen and respond to the needs of its citizens, ensuring their safety and convenience.

The involvement of various government agencies, including the Flood Disaster Response Team headed by the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, highlights the state’s coordinated approach to addressing the flood crisis.

Despite the plea by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Hon Kingsley Fanwo, emphasizing how crucial the federal government’s assistance is in addressing the scale of devastation. However, under Governor Ododo’s leadership, Kogi State is taking decisive steps to protect its citizens and promote a culture of good governance as the State awaits the attention of the Federal Government.
