On this historic day, as Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians and the resilient people of Kogi State.
Today, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by our founding fathers, who paved the way for a united, free, and sovereign nation. Their vision of a Nigeria where every citizen thrives in peace, unity, and prosperity continues to inspire us.
As we reflect on the journey of our great nation, it is essential to acknowledge the remarkable strides made in various sectors. Our country, in its diversity, continues to stand tall on the pillars of resilience, hard work, and unwavering belief in a better tomorrow. The progress we have achieved in infrastructure, security, and economic development is a testament to the dedication of our people.
In Kogi State, we have witnessed a growing commitment to human development, especially in the prompt payment of salaries to the civil servants. May I use this opportunity to advise the governor to implement the 70% increment in the salary of workers. Our natural resources and human capital must be harnessed more effectively to spur economic growth and create opportunities for the youth. These, to my understanding, are steps in the right direction in laying a strong foundation for a brighter future.
On this Independence Day, I call on all Nigerians, particularly the good people of Kogi State, to renew their commitment to the values of unity, integrity, and hard work. We must continue to promote peace, tolerance, and cooperation within our communities, as these are the bedrocks of progress. Our diversity is our strength, and our unity is our hope for a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
While we recognize the challenges ahead, I am confident that with a collective will, determination, and the spirit of patriotism, Nigeria will continue to rise above obstacles and fulfil its potential as a great nation.
Let us embrace the promise of this day with optimism, knowing that each of us has a role to play in the continuous growth of our beloved country.
