Deborah A. Ijadele-Adetona, on behalf of all members worldwide, sympathizes with the families who lost loved ones in the brutal attacks.
Condolence Message
In a statement made public by the national Public Relations Officer, Lib. Billie Nwogu, Barr. Deborah described the killings as “malicious” and called on President Bola Tinubu to empower relevant security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. “Let the wicked face the full wrath of the law without delay,” she emphasized.
Call for Government Action
The SWS International President urged the federal and state governments to go beyond the immediate response to the attacks and address the root causes of the conflicts to prevent future occurrences. “The killing is too many to be mentioned; we cannot continue to be silent why injustice continues to reign,” she stated.
Message of Peace
Barr. Deborah appealed for peace and forgiveness, citing the importance of learning to forgive one another in the name of God. She called on the people of Benue to remain vigilant and raise alarm when they discover strange people in their neighborhood. “Let peace take over,” she said.
Support for Affected Families
The SWS International President comforted the families of nearly 200 people reportedly killed by bandits in Tadurga Ward, located in the Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State. She charged members of the SWS Benue and Kebbi States Chapters to remain steadfast in their advocacy for peace in the land.
