Revolutionary Leadership: Sanitarian Umar Anataku Shaibu Transforms Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology

Sanitarian Umar Anataku Shaibu, the Acting Provost of Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah marked his one-year anniversary in office on 27th, December, 2024, which has been truly remarkable.

He was appointed on 27th, December, 2023, and has since transformed the institution into a hub of academic excellence, innovation, and progress, showcasing his vision, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Since assuming office in December 2023, the college has achieved numerous facelifts, including the renovation of the administrative block, conference room, and lecture halls, which has provided a conducive learning environment for students.

The institution has also secured five–year full accreditation for several courses, including HND Environmental Health, HND Health Information Management, and HND Health Information just as he has successfully established an e–library, supplied computers, and sponsored staff members to attend workshops, seminars and conferences.

Sanitarian Umar Anataku’s commitment to student welfare is noteworthy and has been applauded for providing benches, renovating the entrepreneurship development/skill acquisition center, and extending water supply to the college clinic and student hostels.

These initiatives have significantly improved the overall student experience, earning Sanitarian Umar Anataku the respect and admiration of students, staff, and the wider community.

He has extended his heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Executive Governor of Kogi State, and His worthy successor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, for their unwavering support and vision for education in the state.

He noted that their leadership has created an enabling environment for institutions like Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah, to thrive.

The Acting Provost also expressed his gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abdulazeez Abbas Adeiza, for his support and guidance.

He equally appreciated the Management, Principal Officers, Academic Board, Staff and students for their valuable contributions to the and cooperation, which have been instrumental in achieving the college’s milestones.

Sanitarian Umar Anataku has reiterated his administration’s commitment to doing even more to advance the college’s mission.

According to him, “We have made significant progress, but we are not resting on our laurels. We will continue to innovate, improve, and expand our programs and services to meet the evolving needs of our students and the wider community.”

With his vision, leadership, and dedication, the college is confident that it will continue to soar to new heights.
