NANCIS National DSP Calls for Increased Security, Appeals For Calm Over Attacks on FUL Students

The National Deputy Senate President, National Association of North Central Indigenous Students (NANCIS), Comr. Hadiza Baba has called for calm from the students of Federal University Lokoja in Kogi State over the early hours attack on some students living off campus on the 22nd of March 2024.

The NANCIS DSP sympathised and empathised with the students, described the attack on the students as unfortunate and called for increase security presence along the Felele Axis of the State and around off campus where students and other members of the society resides.

The NANCIS DSP called on the University Vice Chancellor, the DSS, State Security Adviser as well as the Special Adviser, Youth and Student Affairs to avert future occurrence.

She however commended the proactive steps and roles being played by the Special Adviser on Youth & Student Matters to curtail the issue, describing him as Ambassador Oladele John NIHI as a leader with a difference.

She sympathised with students who sustained various degrees of injuries during the attack and those who lost some items, praying to Allah to heal the wounded and provide for those who suffer losses to replace them.

Comr. Hadiza Baba noted a round table talk will do more good than protest, urging the students not to take laws into their hands but rather work with the University Management and other security agencies to find lasting solutions.

Some students resident at student community, Bassa Village, Felele of Federal University Lokoja, were robbed and brutalized.
