The wife of Kogi Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, has distributed relief items cash gifts to senior citizens in Ateba, Agassa community in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi.
The Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to Governor’s, Mrs. Ohunene Aliyu, who distributed the items on her behalf on Friday in Okene, said the gesture was part of Her Excellency’s efforts to improve the lives of elderly citizens in society.
Aliu said that the initiative was aimed at supporting the most vulnerable individuals within the area.
She expressed gratitude to God for giving her the strength to carry out the initiative and expressed gratitude to Mrs Ododo for entrusting her with the opportunity to serve in this capacity.
“With the First Lady’s backing, she has been able to positively impact numerous lives and bring meaningful transformation to households.
“I thank Almighty Allah for this opportunity and Her Excellency, Wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo who has been a pillar to all of us in rendering assistance to the needy.
“If you are with Her Excellency, you must extend hands of fellowship, and this has been part of me.” Aliu noted.
She assured the public that similar empowerment programmes would be extended to other communities across the Kogi central senatorial district.
She admonished the citizens to sustain their support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Ododo.
Some of the beneficiaries in their various comments, expressed optimism that the support provided would significantly alleviate their hardships.
They commended Aliu for her kindness and dedication to improving the well-being of the elderly.
