Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Reps Member Mourns Death of Major Joe Ajayi

Hon. Salman Idris, the Member Representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, has strongly condemned the kidnapping and killing of Major Joe Ajayi, a respected community leader and retired Army Major, in Odo-Ape.
Condemnation and Condolences
In a statement, Hon. Idris described the kidnappers’ actions as “wicked and unfortunate.” He extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and the Odo-Ape community, praying for their strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Circumstances of the Kidnapping
Major Ajayi was kidnapped from his residence in Odo-Ape on May 21, 2025. Despite a N10 million ransom payment, his lifeless body was later found.
Commitment to Justice
Hon. Idris vowed to work with the Kogi State Government, security agencies, and stakeholders to ensure justice is served and those responsible are brought to book. “We will win the battle against kidnappers and bandits in our constituency,” he declared. “We will not rest until our people are safe and secure.”

The lawmaker stood in solidarity with the family of Pastor Joe Ajayi, praying for peace in their constituency and the eternal repose of the soul of Major Joe Ajayi.
