“Earlier today, the Hon. Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Rose Oriaran Anthony and other senior staff members of the Commission received a petition from registered voters from the Kogi Central Senatorial District for the recall of the Senator representing the District, Mrs Natasha Akpoit- Uduaghan.

“The petition was submitted on their behalf by a team led by the Chairperson of the Kogi Women Development Association, Omole Charity Ijese.

Ijese, while talking to journalists, said constituents are tired of the misconduct of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan and that they have fulfilled the requirements of the law of having over 250,000 signatures on the petition from Kogi Central, saying Kogi Central has about 480,000 voters.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan recently was suspended from the Nigeria Senate for six months over misconduct arising from re-allocation of seats in the chamber in a Senate led by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

The Senate President was later accused of sexual harassment by the embattled Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
