Governor Visits APC National Secretariat
The Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged to implement the party’s manifesto through purposeful, inclusive, and people-oriented governance. Governor Ododo made these remarks on Friday during his official visit to the APC national secretariat in Abuja.
Appreciation for APC Leadership
Addressing party leaders, Ododo expressed his deep gratitude to the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) for their continuous support, strategic direction, and tireless efforts in strengthening the party. He acknowledged their roles in consolidating the APC’s position as Nigeria’s preferred political platform.
Commendation of President Tinubu’s Reforms
The governor praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold and transformative economic policies, particularly in areas such as the petroleum sector and monetary reforms. Ododo described the president’s actions as courageous and essential for Nigeria’s long-term development, expressing confidence that these policies would yield positive results for the nation.
“It takes a bold heart like that of Mr. President to take tough but necessary decisions,” Ododo stated. “These actions are in the best interest of our nation and lay the foundation for sustainable prosperity.”
Highlighting Progress in Kogi State
Governor Ododo highlighted some of the achievements of his administration within just 14 months in office. According to him, Kogi State has witnessed significant improvements in security, agriculture, infrastructure, and access to essential social services.
“Our servant-leadership approach is producing results,” Ododo said. “We’ve stabilized our security architecture, increased agricultural productivity, and expanded infrastructural development across the state.”
Youth and Women Inclusion in Governance
Emphasizing inclusiveness, Ododo said his administration is committed to empowering youths and women by creating opportunities for them in leadership positions. This, he said, is already bearing fruit in the form of fresh ideas and renewed trust in governance.
“We are building a new generation of leaders in Kogi,” the governor noted. “This inclusive model has enhanced our credibility and strengthened the APC’s grassroots appeal.”
Positioning for 2027 Elections
Looking ahead, Governor Ododo expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in the 2027 general elections. He assured the party of the unwavering support of Kogi State and pledged to mobilize massive backing for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I am confident the Nigerian people will rally behind Mr. President for a second term,” he affirmed. “Kogi State will continue to stand with him to ensure the success of the Renewed Hope agenda.”
