Armed hoodlums, at the weekend, attacked Ubiaji, a farm settlement in Akpanya community, Igalamela-Odolu local government of Kogi state.
According to a witness, the robbers, in their numbers, invaded the farm settlement, killed on Peter Abah and carted away valuables.
Yousuf Akoh, a resident in the community, said the suspects struck around 12.30am at the deceased’s residence and inflicted multiple cuts on him, for refusing to comply with their directive and demand.
“Though some people are saying, it was herders’ attack. It is a pure robbery incident. His neighbours said he put up a resistance which annoyed the hoodlums and they descended on him with machetes, inflicting him with multiple cuts,” he said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, did not reply to calls and text message sent to him on the incident.
