As the current state of security in the country has become more challenging and consequence upon the recent meeting with the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello on the general state of security with all the local government chairman, all first class traditional Obas, Hon. Moses Sunday David has convened a special security meeting in Mopamuro.
The meeting which were held in segments simultaneously with different sections of the stakeholders started with the heads of Security Agencies in Mopamuro, the traditional rulers discussed the outcome of the meeting held in Lokoja and the directive of His Excellency that includes the following:
i.The ban on the use of face masks in public places
ii. The closures of all brothels.
iii. Registration of all commercial vehicles including tricycles and motorcycles.
iv. Demolitions of all shanties and slums within Kogi State as such could serve as hideouts to criminals.
The Council Boss, Hon. Moses Sunday David later proceeded to address the local hunters, hunters Council of Nigeria and the representative of the NURTW, Okada Riders. Also, the directives on the bans are related to the operators of all brothels, hotels and drinking joints in Mopamuro.
The announcement was also made of the composition of a Special Task Force comprising the members of various security agencies to enforce strict compliance to the new directive.
It is the strong belief of the stakeholders that the new directive and the proactiveness of the law enforcement agencies with the support of the council will go a long way in maintaining peace, security of lives and properties of Mopamuro people and land.
In attendance to contribute to discussions are The Elulu of Mopa, Oba J. Olufunsho Joledo JP, The Alamuro of Amuro, Modupe Aiyedogbon, All graded Obas in Mopamuro and traditional Chiefs, all heads of Security Agencies in Mopamuro and other relevant stakeholders.
